Day 6, Fusion Beads 30 Day Bead Challenge

Today’s design is a statement piece inspired by a TV show or film.

My choice has been both a Broadway play and a movie - Chicago

Black and Gold Redux (Sold)
This is a very long necklace with an inner (22”) and an outer (26 ½”) chain.

The outer chain has a brass chain and a black cotton cord tightly wound together. They do not come apart!

The inner chain is gunmetal with deep black onyx beads in 2 sizes held in place with heavy gauge brass wire. A pendant with another onyx bead, gold plated flower cap and more gunmetal chain is hung from it. I also wrapped black silk cord between the bead and flower.

Day 5, Fusion Beads 30 Day Bead Challenge

For day 5, the challenge is to capture colourful beads, chain or seed beads in a wrapped cord bracelet.

Wrap It Bracelet

My bracelet uses Tea Tree Agate rounds wrapped to a Leather cord dyed green. I used a Wood button to close the bracelet.

Day 4, Fusion Beads 30 Day Bead Challenge

The challenge for day 4 is built around being captivating in crystal. I found the most gorgeous, very large, Swarovski Heart in Bermuda Blue

Island Heart Necklace

The Swarovski Heart is surrounded by 3 types of silver plated chain, a Triple Twist to encircle it, a Curb chain to hang from and a Bicycle chain for comfort around the neck.

Sitting at the intersection of the 3 chains are tiny Swarovski Crystal bicones in Chrysolite Satin. The colour complements the green shimmering in the centre of the crystal heart.

Day 3, Fusion Beads 30 Day Bead Challenge

Today’s challenge is centered on the beauty of gemstones.

Swirls of Blue Pendant

This pendant celebrates the beauty of the oceans. In these cold winter days it’s nice to think about warm waters.

Day 2, Fusion Beads 30 Day Bead Challenge

Today's challenge is all about using a favourite seed bead mix.

This bracelet is something I made when I was first starting into the world of jewellery making. It’s made with a “shaggy” bead stitch from a pattern I purchased from That Bead Lady. I don’t think they even sell the pattern anymore.

Even back then I wanted to put my own stamp on my creations. I adapted the pattern to work with different types of beads rather than purely seed beads.

I don’t think I have ever followed instructions exactly, unless it was made in a workshop or class.

Rock Your Business Networking Show

Yesterday I spent the day at a women’s business networking event “Rock Your Business”. It was a day of learning, visiting, checking out vendors and making a few purchases too.

Presented by Ladies Lounge for women in York Region, in Ontario Canada, it was a fun day. If you have never attended such an event and have the opportunity I highly recommend it.

Here are some photos from the event

From left to right:
Belinda Lee – The Power of Network Marketing
Lindsay de Swart – How to 10x your Engagement on Social Media
Jennifer Ettinger – BRANDstorming
Anita Heidema – 3 Pillars to Success
Cheryl Rankin – Shape up your Sales
Odette Laurie – Be Distinct in Business
Elizabeth Johnston – Master of Ceremonies

Full house in attendance

Some of the vendor and presenter tables

Some final thoughts from people who knew they were approaching the end of their long lives, as presented by one of the speakers

Slightly fuzzy so here’s the text:
- I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
- I wish I didn’t work so hard.
- I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
- I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
- I wish that I had let myself be happier.

Whatever you do, however hard you work to make your business succeed, don’t forget what’s important to you.
